Seasons and Weather

Many of you will find our seasons reversed. Summer in Bahia runs from December to March. Winter runs from June to August. The good news is that the seasonal differences are small. Average temperatures from Summer to Winter vary by no more than 3 tor 4 degrees. Expect average summer highs of 29C (84F). Winter highs average 25C (77F) during the day with nighttime lows of 19C (66F). Even these differences can be minimized by our bright sunny days of winter and the cool ocean breezes of summer.

We are often asked when is the best time to vacation in Trancoso. There is not a correct response. We love the entire year. Summers are a bit warmer and more Brazilians enjoy the beaches at this time of the year. Winters are quieter but still warm enough to enjoy our tropical paradise. We love the winter season and the sunny days make for wonderful beach excursions and golf throughout the day. Ocean temperatures vary little from winter to summer, 25C to 28C (76F to 82F), and you can enjoy an ocean swim throughout the year. We sometimes see a little more rainfall during the winter season but most of our rains conveniently fall in the evening and night.
